Job Description

Aim of volunteering role:

To volunteer for Community Wellbeing Team, who work on reducing isolation and loneliness through organising different community activities including lunches, day trips, assisted shopping and befriending.

 

Tasks:

Calling an older person for a chat and to give them some company.


Time:

This role is based at the Hub office and is flexible. We are open 10-4, Monday to Friday, you can do as little or as much as you like during the week, either half days or full days.


Place of work:
 Involve Hub office, The Mall (Chequers), Maidstone town centre.

Volunteer manager: Community Wellbeing Team Manager


Skills required:

  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • Empathetic, compassionate and patient.
  • Reliable and friendly.

DBS Checking:

Volunteers who will be directly and significantly involved with children and/or vulnerable adults will be required to undergo a police check.
