Job Description

What we do is to support older people who may be isolated, frail, vulnerable, have no one to turn to, and are overwhelmed by a problem affecting them i.e financial change, care needs have increased, partner has gone into a home or passed away, or they are not being listened to by Social/Health and other statutory services.   Our aims are to support older people in their decision making and interactions in order for them to stay well and self-manage their own affairs, to ensure they exercise the same rights as other consumers, to prevent abuse and resist ageism.

We are seeking Trustees to strengthen our Board, who can help CROP work towards achieving its mission. You will need to be able to make a commitment to CROP and devote the necessary time including attending bi-monthly committee meeting (2 hrs Wednesday morning at our office in Lenham).  To use your personal skills and experience and actively contribute to the Board of Trustees, in maintaining strong and effective governance, provide strategic direction, planning and management. Day to day operational decisions are delegated to the Manager.

The role is very rewarding and enjoyable and an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of older people we support and serve.

We pay all travel expenses and provide an induction into the workings of our operation.

Ideally trustees will also have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:-

* Business Development Support
* Media and communication
* Finance – (we are currently seeking a new Treasurer)
* Fundraising Support

* HR Support
